Started:

Sreekakulam Mission, started in 2006 covers the central area of Andhra Pradesh upto the border of Orissa.

Activities:

  • The main activities are regular village visits, prayer meetings, house visits, group work, ladies meeting, fasting prayer, Sunday worship services, etc.
  • 25 Congregations and covers 60 villages.
  • Sunday worships are conducted in houses, thatched huts and chapels, in Telugu and Soura languages
  • Two balawadies and two tailoring schools
  • 20 girls are staying in the Girls Hostel in Seethapeta village
  • Our Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa dedicated newly built St. Berthelomew Mar Thoma Chapel at Keesara and St. Paul's Mar Thoma Chapel at Saprayiguda on 19th and 20th October 2008.
  • Five students are undergoing training in Dharma Jyoti Vidya Peeth.
  • Conducted a Family Christmas Carol at Saprayiguda and a three-day Convention at Bukkuru village.

Started:

The Mission Centre was started in June 1997. The pioneers were Mr. Mathew Abraham, Mr. M. C. Varghese and Mr. T. S. Jose.

Activities:
  • Mission work is carried on, concentrating in 5 villages around Beohari.
  • Hindi worship services are conducted every Sunday and around 50 members attend the service.
  • Sunday worship services at the Mission School, Godaval and Bansagar.
  • Balavadi schools under the Grama Jyoti project in five villages, New Baronda, Bensukli, Basur Mohalla, Saket Mohalla and Marthandganj.
  • Tailoring School and Medical care programme.
  • By the completion of 13 years of witnessing Christ in this soil, we could accomplish the dream of the seekers and believers to have a worship place in Beohari.

This Mission was started in 1997.An evangelist staying in the mission house and giving leadership to the mission work with the guidance of Itarsi Mar Thoma parish.

Activities:

  • Evangelistic works in the near by villages through medical camps and tuition centre.
  • Gram Jyoti School started in 2000. There are 84 students from Nursery to class IV with seven teachers. School has celebrated its 9th Annual Day and Christmas on 20th December 2008. At present classes are conducted in the Church building and Mission House. Foundation stone for a new school building was laid on 16th Nov 2008. Construction is under progress, but we are in need of money to complete it.
  • Tailoring School, VBS and Medical Clinic.
  • We were able to buy 5 new sewing machines with the help of the fund given by Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa. Two machines were given to poor women who have completed diploma course from our centre.
  • Two centers in the villages with 20 adults and two instructors in the Adult Literacy Programme for the villagers.

  • The mission centre works from the Dharma Jyoti campus and actively involved with the village life through education help.
  • A Gram Jyoti school with 50 students and three teachers is serving the poorest of the poor in the village community.
  • Special coaching is given to students in the school before the daily classes with their homework and other special needs. Grade V and VI students were given special coaching in ‘General Knowledge’. They were given free books to help with the programme.Gram Jyoti School with nearly 100 students.

Mission was started in 1998. . The mission centre is based in and around the church located at Chakkeri, which is the outskirt of the city.

Activities:

  • A Gram Jyoti School with 56 children and 3 teachers is functioning well. The School has classes from LKG to Class III..
  • The children of rickshaw pullers and casual laborers come from the nearby slum areas of Hindu and Muslim religious back ground.
  • The Evangelist is also conducting Ordinary Services and Prayer Meetings at the Church as well as visiting homes of school children and the Parish members.

Started:

This mission project called ‘Shanti Darshan’ was introduced at this historical and religious place in 1995. The main objectives of this project are to interact with the faith and beliefs of other religions and to provide a better way of Christian life and better education to the four Tribal villages, Chamavu, Shivapur, Musairgaon and Mohilla.

Activities:

  • Gram Jyoti Schools, Work among drug addicts and bonded labourers, Daily Hindi Prayer meetings, Tailoring School and Tuition Centre.
  • A School with 50 Children in Chamavu Mission Centre.
  • Tailoring school for girls, tuition centre for children and agriculture for jobless people.
  • 20 people regularly participate in the Bible Study.
  • Around 120 children attend the village Sunday school. A tuition class with 31 students and two teachers is held for village children studying in 7th to 10th standards. Varanasi Mar Thoma mission sponsors ten students. In the tailoring there are 21 students as the 8th batch.

This mission was started on 15th March, 2005 at Bhari Bhraman, near Jammu Thawi.

Activities:

  • Visiting nearby villages, conducting prayer meetings and tuition classes by the evangelist. The Delhi Centre M. T. E. A. is supporting the project.
  • We have two balawadies with nearly thirty students and a tailoring school in the village.
  • Regular house visits, prayer meetings, tuition classes for the village students, Sunday school classes, and celebration of different festivals are the other activities of the mission.

The Ambikapur Mission is the only Diocesan mission centre in Chhattisgarh State.

Activities:

  • Mission work in the villages of Ambikapur, VBS and Tailoring class.

  • We are giving spiritual nurturing to the scattered Christian Community around Ambikapur and Bisrampur.

The Navjeevan Centre started in 1997 and it is giving leadership in the villages in conducting Hindi worship services.

Activities:

  • The evangelistic work is concentrated in villages around Ranchi city, viz: Mahutoli, Karamtoli, Tethar Kochar, Hatia, Jaganathpur, Bellalong, Lalkottuba, Kumbatoli, Dam-side, Hadshore, Nachibettu, Anitolli, Khad Bhandar, Kutte and Kolambi.
  • Worship on every Sunday and Holy Communion once in every month is conducted at Mar Thoma Church, Ranchi
  • Balawadi in Sakkua – Bagon village has 30 – 40 children.
  • Free tuition centre at Samarbasti, Tailoring Centre at Pathratoli, Christmas gathering, V.B.S.

The mission was started in 1999 as a part of the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Calcutta Mar Thoma Parish .The Parish purchased 7 acres of land at Jaggadal, 21 Kms away from the church centre.

Activities:

  • Along with Compassion East India Mar Thoma Child Development Centre reached to the villages and were able to help 224 school going children to grow in spiritual, economical and social ways along with their parents.
  • St. Thomas English Medium School started in 2004 is having classes from L.K.G. - 3rd Std. This year a new building is made for this purpose.
  • Balawadies we give primary education for 101 students.
  • Medical camps under the supervision of a team of doctors form our medical outreach Janata Medical Service
  • During the Christmas a big Mela was organized which was attended by nearly 2000 people.

The Taimer mission was started in 1997, as part of the Golden Jubilee of St. Andrews Mar Thoma Church, Jabalpur. Our aim is to interact with the people of other faiths and the uplift of the downtrodden.

Activities:

  • The mission takes initiative in conducting child welfare, medical camp, literacy programmes, tailoring classes and awareness programmes to have better life for these underprivileged villagers.
  • The Hindi medium Gram Jyoti School with 380 students from Nursery to 10th classes with 15 teachers and 3 non teaching staff caters the need of the poor village children.
    Balavadies the nearby villages such as Upper Dali, Bheeta and Taimer with a total strength of the student of balavadies are 120.

ROURKELA MISSION/JHIRPANI CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (Orissa)

Started:

Jirpani Child Development Centre was started as a project under Compassion East India together with our Diocese at Rourkela MTC. It is a project for “Releasing needy children from poverty”.

Activities:

  • 270 students in nine classes from Nursery to Class VII, four project officials, nine teachers and seven other staff.
  • 70 children attend the Sunday School.
  • Moral classes and Sunday School classes are conducted on Saturdays and Sundays respectively.
