Sihora Ashram


Sihora is the Geographical center of India located in Jabalpur district. Sihora Ashram is the first Mission Center of Mar Thoma Church in North India, inspired by Dr. C.E. Abraham then Principal of Serampur College. It is a Celibate Ashram started by 3 young dedicated Missionaries. (Rev. K. T. Thomas, Rev. John Varghese, Rev. M. P. Mathew). They were dedicated for the work on 30th October 1942 by Titus II Metropolitan in the presence of Abraham Mar Thoma Metropolitan.

It is a fellowship of celibate people, who have taken the oath of simplicity, chastity and obedience.

Ashramites: Five ordained priests, four brothers and 12 sisters.
Activities:
  1. Educational Work - Nursery School in Sihora Town (English medium)and in 10 Villages (Hindi Medium), 4 Primary Schools, 2 Middle School and 1 English Medium School. (Gram Jyoti School )
  2. Medical Work through Hospital and village Clinics.
  3. Destitute Homes.
  4. Separate hostel for boys and girls, Library.
  5. Easow Mar Timothios Training Center for Evangelists.
  6. Development Programes : Adult Education, Self employment Schemes, Marriage aid Schemes, Construction of Houses for Villages, Weaving etc.
Two High Schools, Middle Schools, Primary Schools and Balawadies are functioning here under the Ashram and Gram Jyoti Education Development Society of Delhi Diocese.

Bhopal Ashram / Mission


The work was started by some dedicated young men (Mr. M.C. Varghese, Mr. M. V. Philip, Mr. M. M. Abraham) as an Ashram at a village called Saidganj 25km away from Bhopal on Raison Road. The villagers were illiterate and they are influenced by lot of superstitious beliefs. When first batch left for other activities in different places, evangelists from MTEA were send.

Activities: English Medium Primary School, The Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan Chatravas (Students’ Hostel) (16 Students), Medical Work, Employment scheme for Villagers, VBS, Nursery Schools (4), Mother and Child welfare scheme, Social Groups in 10 villages.

Satna Asharam / Mission


Satna is near Riva in Madhya Pradesh. Satna Mission (Christiya Bandhu Kulam Mission) was started by 4 young men from Kaviyoor (Rev. M. P. Thomas, Rev. A. M. Abraham, Rev. A. T. Chacko, Mr. Kurian Alexander) as an Ashram. Later on when the founder members left for other assignments it is continued as a Mission Field of MTEA.

  1. Visiting 20 villages in and around 60 kms of Satna., Bible Classes, Prayer Meetings in Villages, Bible Classes for Children ( 200 Children in 6 villages), VBS, Film Show, Nursery Schools (4), Typewriting Institute, Computer Training Institute, Farming (40 Acres) etc.

  2. Christu Kula Mission Higher Secondary School: Classes from LKG to Higher Secondary.

  3. Mar Thoma Gram Jyoti School: Hindi Medium.

  4. Hostel for Village boys.
